46023EN - Can I shift gears when the bike is stopped?

You can change the level of electric assistance when you're stopped, but you shouldn't shift the mechanical gears.

The mechanical derailleur requires the chain to be in motion to make the jump between different sprockets. If there's no movement in the chain and sprockets, the mechanical gear shift won't be possible.
